Member for Tweed, Geoff Provest is calling on residents in Tweed to nominate local seniors, who make a positive impact in the community, for a 2018 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Award.

Mr Provest said the awards are a wonderful way to showcase the talents and contributions of seniors living in Tweed, as part of the special 60th Anniversary celebrations of the popular NSW Seniors Festival.

“Tweed seniors make a real difference to local families, recreational groups, businesses and organisations, and we want to celebrate them,” Mr Provest said.

“I am sure everyone in Tweed knows an older person who deserves to be recognised, so I encourage you to nominate them and show them how much they are appreciated for all they do.”

Minister for Ageing, Tanya Davies urged all members of the public to take this opportunity to celebrate the older people in their lives.

“Seniors have a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer, and they continue to make significant contributions to communities across NSW,” Mrs Davies said.

“The NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards are a special way in which every community can thank local seniors for their hard work, skills and generosity.”

Nominations for the 2018 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards are open until March 30 2018.
